Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and, if necessary, obtain a Korean visa prior to entering Korea. However, many are permitted visa-free entry for a limited time under certain conditions. Nationals of those countries or regions with which Korea has signed a visa waiver agreement can enter without a visa, on the condition that they do not engage in remunerative activities during their stay. The homepage of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides information on which countries citizens require a visa. Please contact the Korean Embassy or Consulate in your departure country for further details. 

If you are a citizen of one of the countries under visa exemption agreements (Table 1) or in accordance with principles of reciprocity or national interest (Table 2), you can enter Jeju directly or via Seoul (Incheon, Gimpo) with valid passport without visa. 

If you are not a citizen of the countries listed in Table 1 or 2, you will need a valid passport and visa to enter mainland Korea. However, if you enter Jeju directly without connecting at Seoul (Incheon, Gimpo) or other Korean cities, and you are not a citizen of Afghanistan, Cuba, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria, Macedonia, Palestine, Sudan, or Syria, then you will be granted visa-free entry for 30 days with a valid passport.

Invitation Letter

HPC 2020 Secretariat will provide an invitation letter to support you in obtaining a visa to enter the Republic of Korea. To receive the invitation letter, your registration and full payment are required. Please note that you will be able to download the invitation letter for visa issuance at MY PAGE once payment is received for your registration.
